Dear Jesus – For Those in Pain At Christmas

 Dear Jesus

Happy Birthday to You

Thank You for all that You have done

And for that which You continue to do

I am sorry I cannot smile today

Thank You for my baby boy

I love him so very much

And he is truly a joy

But I am troubled today Jesus

My heart is full of pain

It is so hard to go on these days

To want to see the sun and the rain

This year has been a tough one

Full of sorrow and loss

I do not understand today

For what we pay this cost

I know that You are good

Kind and true my Lord

But I feel as though I have be stabbed

Instead of strengthened by Your sword

I keep trying to see the blessings

Praising your name through all

But oh, it is getting so very hard

For me to stand up tall

This Christmas is a sad one Jesus

While we are to praise and celebrate You

Our hearts are heavy in sorrow

There seems so much to do

For the birth of my baby

Was to start a happy year

Yet all we seem to do this time

Is sob and shed more tears

Happy Birthday Jesus

Can You tell me please

I come to You today with humble heart

Down upon my kees

Why Dear Jesus

Must we hurt this day

For the Father’s Word tells us

That You came to take all pain away

For the little children, Lord

Left here upon this earth

Without their daddys here

To celebrate Your Birth

Why oh why, my Lord

Did they leave us this year

When there are so very many of us

Who really need them here

For what in Heaven, Father

Did You need them there today

Why did You take Kenny and Curtis

So very far away

I believe in my heart

Oh God, I know

There has got to be a reason

You are requiring us to let them go

But in this our King’s Birthday

Why must we be so sad

For Him we must Rejoice

For Blessings we must be glad

Tis Oh such a sad time

To loose the one’s we love

Praise God, that for this Birthday

We will see them again above

Resume & Job Search Advice

Having worked with many of the Top Companies in the USA and throughout the Seattle/Tacoma area, off and on for 25 years, I have seen thousands of resumes submitted for possible employment.  Unfortunately, most of them submitted do not do ‘justice’ to the individual(s) applying.

I have been contracted over the years to do the recruiting for many Companies and I can tell you what it takes to get you in the door, and exactly what the Employers are looking for. I have also written literally thousands of Resumes, Job Descriptions and researched hundreds of position Salaries over the years for numerous Companies/Employers which allows me to assist those who may be seeking employment to detail their skills in a format that gets them noticed above others.

Some things that many Hiring Professionals may not tell you are:

We get 150 – 300 resumes per position advertised with up to 600 applicants at times. When hiring – many Hiring Professionals will take a 5 second (YES –that is 5 SECONDS) scan of your resume.  If we do not see within that first scan the skills that show us “can you do the job I am hiring for” – your resume is thrown into the ‘no’ pile and generally not looked at again.  Once we see if you can do the job the second glance is to “stability” – how long on any given job – are you stable or do you move around a lot from job to job.  After reviewing those two things, if we are satisfied with what we see we will ‘dig’ further into necessary qualifications such as Schooling and/or Certifications.

Without a quality resume that shows an Employer right up front – that you can do the job you are applying for – you will not be called in for an interview. Hiring is very time consuming, and the more of a Hiring Professional’s time it takes in having to ask questions, or dig (aka; read all day) to find the necessary information – the less likely we are to do it.  We will simply move on to the next candidate.

Another big mistake I see on many resumes is that many people ASSUME that you know what they did because of their Job Title.  Unless you are being reviewed by a 10+ year hiring professional and they have dealt with thousands of Job Descriptions, most of those checking your resume have no clue what you did based on your Job Title alone.  It is imperative in this highly competitive job market that you detail your skills and leave nothing to question on your resume and cover letter. Some companies are still using strict ‘old-school’ or OCR databases to do all the screening for them, so if you do not have your skills spelled out in detail – you more than likely will not be picked for an actual person to review your resume.

Forget the ‘fluff n stuff’… a large majority of individuals lean heavily on the fact that they have many accomplishments, and or hold several Degrees. Oftentimes Hiring Professionals are leery of such information as it appears that individuals may be trying to “dazzle them with BS” so to speak.  Therefore, things such as; Volunteer activities, Hobbies, Major Accomplishments, etc. should not be on a resume.  Any information of this nature pertinent to the job you are applying for (such as being stated in the job qualifications in the job add or job description) should be stated in the Cover Letter, otherwise it is irrelevant, may hinder you more than help you, and should be left out completely.

live-every-moment-2012

A mistake I see quite a bit in Job Hunting is that many are using sites like www.monster.com and www.careerbuilder.com as their sole sources of job hunting.

Many individuals think that by simply putting their resume online – the jobs will come to them.  Not true. All employers EXPECT you to come to them for any valid position online.  Therefore, they post the jobs and wait for the resumes to come to them. The great thing about Monster and Careerbuilder is that you can create job searches specific to your skill set – those work quite well as long as you create SEVERAL of them and not just one specific to any ONE Job Title.  You are also often able to apply directly for positions listed on those sites once you have uploaded your resume, that too is a good thing.  I suggest that you use all avenues/websites available and apply frequently for the positions that fit your skill set.  However do not think that by posting your resume (which I recommend you post it as ‘private’ and not ‘public’) that the employers are going to come to you.

In my opinion, one of the BEST job hunting sites is  http://www.indeed.com – you can create an account on the site for FREE and set up several job notifications based on location and/or job type.

http://www.headhunter.com/  and https://www.careerbuilder.com/  are also great.  Again, I recommend making your resume PRIVATE – and simply having it uploaded on the sites so that you can easily apply for anything that you may want to.  Otherwise you will be ‘spammed’ to death with every bogus opportunity out there.  J  These sites actually search OPEN positions via the major search engines so they ‘locate’ potential jobs for you that you designate to fit your skill set in the searches that you set up.

I recommend you do the same on : https://fortress.wa.gov/esd/worksource/Seeker/skrLogin.aspx  – MOST of the Employers (including all the Major companies here; Boeing, Microsoft, Amazon, Expedia etc.) are directly ‘linked’ to the UE Work Source site and therefore their positions show up there regularly.

Another aspect is that often times many positions are miss-posted on ALL the job sites. It is difficult sometimes for an employer to find a good match in a job category in order to post an advertised position, and therefore you might find a mechanic job under non-profit because it is being posted by a Non-Profit Company.  You must look in several different categories and/or create various searches in order to find a valid position – not simply the one specific to your desired Job Title.

The bigger mistake overall however, one that I see on a daily basis, is generally in how the resume and cover letter are set up.   Many years ago I created two resume formats that have worked for every individual who ever used them.  Both are easy to read and the information necessary in finding a given job is presented properly.

Today, there are so many resume programs out there and faulty formats that leave so many people wondering what it is they are doing wrong in finding a job. I know, because every time I hire for someone I see literally thousands of poorly written resumes that do not describe even a portion of what a person is qualified to do.  Not to mention some of the firms out there charging people for those same faulty resumes.  I am hoping that by sharing this information I can help empower people and direct them to the job they are looking for.

Some general Resume rules to follow:

1.      Detail your skills

2.      Put Education at the bottom of the resume – not at the top

3.      An objective is not necessary and seldom read on a resume – instead incorporate your summary or objective in your Cover Letter – don’t put it on your resume

4.      Go back no more than 10 years (usually 6 years is plenty)

5.      Keep Resume to 1 page for General Labor, General Office etc.  Two to three pages for Professional/Executive Positions

6.      Do not put references on your resume – have them prepared on a separate page and ready to present only when asked for them

A Day That Changed My Life: In Loving Memory of Floyd A. Robbins – My Dad – November 19, 1936 – September 27, 2003

Floyd A. Robbins (Aka: Robby or Austy)

It was a Saturday, September 27th 2003. We had just returned from our Family vacation and several days on the Farm of Floyd & Loretta Robbins (My Mom & Dad) in Benton City, WA.

As my little family prepared our home for winter and I tended to my two young sons – at 12:38 p.m. I suddenly had the ‘reminder’ to call my Mother to say ‘hello’. I located my cell phone and dialed. My mother had gotten a ‘cold’ the day after we had left their Farm (we’d been home only 4 days), and there was distress in her voice.

I stated my usual cheerful “Hi Mom”… but could tell she wasn’t well. She spoke with Austin and then me.  She immediately told me that my Dad was not doing well that he had come in from the barn – which was about 100 yards from the house, he was sweating (which wasn’t unusual in Benton City heat), was pale, and had sat in his recliner chair and yelled at her to bring him some Rolaids (antacids). His chair was located in the living room, she was speaking to me from the kitchen. I asked her to check on him as a chill began to run over me…

She walked to the living room and said to my Dad, “Oh no, oh no, BABY, BABY, NO PLEASE BABY”, as she let out a cry I knew immediately… she stated to me with a desperate cry “He’s Dying”…As she watched the Love of her life slip through her hands. My heart broke as I was too far away to help them… I screamed, “Mom — hang up the phone and call 911 – NOW!”.  It was 12:47 p.m. I hung up. I hit the floor in panic and prayer — I ran outside and told Mark to PRAY – NOW – “My Dad is having a heart attack”! My children watched with wide eyes as their Mother hit the floor…

Floyd & Loretta Robbins – April 19, 1958

As I prayed, I felt my Dad’s presence with me – I thought that was quite odd. My mother called me back in despair at 12:59 p.m. as the Emergency Aid had not arrived and at one point drove PAST their Farm… as minutes passed I tried to walk her through CPR on the phone, fully knowing that too much time had passed, yet praying for a miracle. Aid arrived at 1:05 p.m. and I hung up again.

A neighbor arrived and began praying with me… I hung on to hope… I prayed “No Jesus, No, Please No”. All the while I could feel my Dad’s presence… I heard very clearly, “It’s OK, I’ve got him – let go”. Again I cried, “No Lord, No”… again I heard, “I’ve got him, let go”… I began to bawl hysterically as I knew in that moment… I must let go. I did.

My Mother called me back and said, “They have his heart beating again, but he’s not breathing on his own”. I told her, “Mom, no, he would not want to live hooked up to machines, we must let him go”. She cried – I cried. We knew. I felt him leave.

Floyd A. Robbins Family 1987

This day changed my life drastically in so many ways. My parents had been married for 45 years. Sure they argued now and then, or did not see ‘eye to eye’ on every issue — but their LOVE never faltered. I was blessed to watch this unfold throughout my life. It wasn’t long after my Dad’s death that my mother suddenly took ill with bone cancer. My family and I were there to care for her off/on for the remainder of her life until she passed in 2005. She truly did not know how to live without him.

There is nothing that can prepare you for the chain of events that follow these things… and it is my belief that we do not ‘get over it’, but that we DO ‘heal from it’. I serve a gracious and loving God. I know without any doubt — there will come a day — I will be with those that have gone before me again.

Even now, as I read my Dad’s love letters to my Mother — I am amazed at what they had! Wow! What an example they gave us! Thank you Dad! I miss you so much! Save a dance for me!

Why She loved him so much – A Love Letter From My Dad to My Mom shortly after my Birth – EXACTLY AS HE HAD WRITTEN IT:

January 18, 1961

Hi Darling, (Robin too!)

Well here is some money for you.  Not much but all the Eagle shit this time.  Heh, heh.  Guess I don’t have to tell you to pinch every half cent of it.  You better go over and pay Chuck and Betty for those chickens though as they probally think that we are terds for not coming across at the picnic the other day, but I could care less anyway.

Well how did your modeling deal come off?  Did you make a million so we could buy us a cadillac? Ha, Ha.  Please don’t think I’m rubbing you wrong dear as I don’t mean it that way.  How was Hazel when you saw her?  I hope you told them to come see us sometime.

How are my two Dollies?  I know that your as sweet as ever and am hoping that the baby is too.  I don’t see how she could ever be any other way but you know how it goes sometimes.  Say if you answer this right away I’ll get it before we get in Friday.  They fly mail in off this tub all the time.  How about that?

Well Darling I can’t think of much to say beings I just saw you yesterday so will close for now as I have to send some messages out anyway.  Bye Bye Babies……. All my love ever Darling.

Austy

p.s. Hi Lover,

I love you both.

In Loving Memory – A Tribute To My Mother

Our Family 1987

My mother was one of the finest ladies to walk this earth.  Not only was she one of the kindest spirits, known to many – but she was my absolute best friend for nearly 45 years.  She taught me how to laugh, how to love, how to be generous, honest and kind but mostly how to share every part of my life with others.  That is who SHE was… she loved everyone immediately upon meeting them without reserve, and she had no problem showing them just how special they were.  If you knew her – you knew that you could ALWAYS call her, any time day or night, and count on her for positive re-enforcement, a kind word and definitely a laugh or a giggle. Her family was her highest priority at all times.  She was a devoted wife and mother, and she totally adored her grandchildren from the day they were born – she thought they were hers and couldn’t keep her hands off of them.

Mom loved to serve others.  It was her passion, whether you were family, friend, or casual acquaintance.  If you came to her home, she immediately began to serve you – offering you food, shelter, laughter, and love.  She was bubbly and happy-go-lucky nearly all the time.  You didn’t see her depressed, or down – you always saw her smile.  She’d give you anything she had if she thought it would enhance your life somehow.  She’d spend hours laboring over her orchard and gardens just to make special juices, and jams, or other things that she loved to give to and share with others.  She planted all her trees herself and believe me – when she started out they were little sticks – not trees.  We had so much fun teasing her about her rows and rows of sticks that were supposedly someday going to produce food.  She just ignored us, and kept on babying those sticks, and sure enough – years later – there was a beautiful orchard full of delicious, organic fruit and nuts.  She was so proud of it – and of course the rest of us were pretty quiet from that point on about her ‘sticks’.

Though her roots are from Wyoming and the farming community, mom was ALWAYS a lady.  She rarely used profanity, nor did she speak ill of others.  Even while working her farm and orchard for the last 17 years, and after she got sick – she remained a lady.  Her will to live was uncanny – she never gave up.

Mom loved music and loved to dance.  While my dad was alive they experienced so much life together.  Mom learned to water ski, ride motorcycles, camp, and travel.  They took trips to Florida, Las Vegas, Nebraska, California, and numerous other places – where mom would always be laughing and spreading her joyous nature with everyone.

We picked the song, “You Raise Me Up”, to give you a glimpse of who my mother really was… she NEVER failed to ‘raise others up’.  Both my parents taught me how to climb mountains, and then how to stand a top them and take in the beauty of the world.  But my mom was the rock beneath us all.  It was her undying love for her family that held us together, and taught us truly how to climb any mountain or overcome any obstacle or trial in our life.  She never stopped believing, loving, laughing, or trying.  She’d walk beside you all the way, never complaining, and then she’d rejoice with you at the top.

I spoke with my mother often through the years about Heaven, and what it would be like.  On her last day of life I sat with her and asked her if she remembered accepting Jesus into her heart when she was young.  Mom affirmed that she had done that years ago, and she told me that she was not afraid to die, she knew where she would be going.  Approximately 7 hours later, she took her last breath.  Though my heart is broken for the loss of my best friend and mother, and I can’t imagine what my life is going to like without her wonderful presence.  I am ever so thankful and honored to have known this rare and special lady.  It was a definite honor and privilege to have been able to serve her in her last years of life, though the circumstances were heartbreaking.  Yet today, there is no doubt in my heart, that she is dancing with my dad in Heaven.  She has a new glorious body, free of disease and suffering, and I know she’s spreading her joyous laughter throughout the Heavens and having the absolute best time of her life.

In Loving Memory of Curtis Scott Robbins: June 23, 1964 – April 11, 1995

This is the Eulogy I wrote & delivered at his funeral.

Curtis Robbins & his Dog TD – Family Vacation in Wyoming

In Loving Memory…

Tribute to my Baby Brother Curtis

Everyone here knew Curtis in different ways.

Some of us knew him as “the guy who’d give you the shirt off his back”, or share anything he had to make you happy.

Donny, Jake, Scott, & Curtis – Halloween ‘Nerds’ 1987

We knew him as that “happy-go-lucky”, fun-loving guy, who always seemed to be able to smile and find some way to bring our spirits up if we were down.  He’d go out of his way to assist us financially, and he even on a couple of occasions risked his own life in order to save the lives of his friends, and then carried them to safety.

Curt & The Fish he caught – Potholes State Park

Some of us knew him as that ‘little-turd’, with his mischievous grin, who could playfully tease the heck out of you, on any given day. Curtis didn’t like to fight or argue, he loved to laugh and love.  He didn’t talk others down, no matter what they had done or said to him, or about him.  Curtis was always a gentleman being courteous and polite to everyone he came to know.  He worked hard, and sometimes played too hard, displaying his ‘no-fear’, ‘let’s just have fun’ attitude, but he’d always let you come along with him in either case.  He was one of the few who actually lived each day to the fullest, as if it were his last.

Curt at Jake & Suzi Anderson’s Reception

Curtis loved his family and friends more than he could ever tell us. His actions spoke louder than words for many of us, and he didn’t have to say ‘I love you’.  He did so many funny things to make us laugh, he was truly a gift – a blessing lent to us by God.  He gave us so many beautiful memories.  I am so thankful that I had 30 years to get to know him and love him.  Even though I knew his weaknesses, I am proud to be his big sister and thankful that he allowed me to be so close to him, and I for one, will forever remember his smile.  He touched so many of our lives in so many different ways…

In the words of Boys To Men;

“it’s so hard to say good-bye to yesterday.  How do I say good-bye to what we had?  The good times that made us laugh…  I thought we’d get to see forever, but forever’s gone away.  So I’ll take with me the memories, to be my sunshine after the rain…”

and I’ll rejoice in the fact that he watches over us, and that I’ll see him again one day in Heaven.

And today, as my heart breaks because he’s gone, I thank God for the loan;  for I couldn’t have asked for a better person in my little baby brother Curtis Scott Robbins.

A Tribute To My Aunt Lydia (June 22, 1938 – April 4, 2010)

I have been asked many times to write and deliver the eulogies of my family members over the years.  This one is in Loving Memory of my dear Aunt Lydia Heath… Until we meet again!

A couple of years ago, My Aunt Lydia called me and asked me to write and speak on her behalf at her funeral.  I told her I would do so only under the condition that she promise me that she wasn’t going to leave us anytime soon.  She giggled and said, “Just promise me you’ll do it”.  Today I honor that promise.

On June 22nd1938, one of the sweetest ladies to walk this earth was born.  She lived a full life of laughter, love and joy.  Though I saw her go through many tough times and trials, she never faltered to remain her happy, lively, joyous self.  She was kind to all those that she met and she dearly LOVED children.  Being a Teacher was very important to her and anything she could do to help a child’s life be better – she did it.  My Aunt Lydia was the best of the best.  I saw others treat her unkindly only to see her respond in love, every time.  To my knowledge, there was not a person who met her who did not immediately like her.

Aunt Lydia at the Farm 2006

To give you just a small insight into her character, I’d like to share with you a couple of stories.

When my mother was dying and it seemed like my whole world was crashing in – My Aunt Lydia showed up, in Her true fashion, to help me as much as she could.  Unfortunately, she quietly parked behind my suburban.  When I received a call and had to rush out to take care of the matter, I quickly backed out of the driveway without looking behind me and plowed into the side of Aunt Lydia’s pretty new car.  I went in to tell her about it – that I was sorry and would give her my insurance information when I returned.  She very calmly, kindly, and lovingly said, “OK”.  After several hours I returned and went in to hand her my information – she turned to me and said, “It’s ok, I don’t need it, you have enough to deal with – it’s just a car.  I’ll have John pull the dent out”.   Then she gave me a much needed hug – she always understood…  Rarely do we find such kindness and love and genuine forgiveness in others, especially when we need it most.  The dent is still in the car, she never had it fixed.

Lydia Heath 1999

When I was a little girl I used to look at her in awe.  She was the most beautiful lady I’d ever seen, and she ALWAYS seemed to be smiling and laughing.  I have so many memories of her infectious giggle and her head back in full laughter.  She loved to play games, tease kindly, laugh and seemed to have a great time whatever she was doing.  She was ALWAYS a lady, and her faith in God never faltered no matter what her circumstances were.  I had a wonderful mother, but my Aunt Lydia was a very close ‘second’ and she was truly one of my best friends.  I spent many summers at her home with her – she was always so much fun to be around.  She made everyone feel so welcome in her life.

She was there for me when I needed her most, and there was no one else around to help.  It didn’t matter how tired she was or how badly she felt – she stood up and stood beside me strong and faithful.  I have heard the same from just about everyone who knew her – we always knew we could count on her.  And she wouldn’t just help you – but she’d genuinely LOVE you, hug you, and laugh with you all the way trough it.  I never once heard her judge anyone, she accepted people for who they were – and she loved them – plain and simple.  It wasn’t spoken – it was something you just FELT immediately with her.  Whatever you needed that she was capable of – she’d do it – no questions asked – then she’d leave with a kind hug and a smile.  One of her absolute favorite things to do was DANCE.  If there was any type of  music playing – she’d be a jiggling, n boogying around the house, singing and giggling.  Most of us know that she loved Elvis Presley and all of his music, but not all of us got to see how much she really ENJOYED it.  🙂

Aunt Lydia, John & Uncle Jack 1960's

I am thankful to have known one of God’s greatest gifts and to have had her presence of love in my life and in my children’s lives.  Her example of true and genuine love cannot be matched by anyone.  I have yet to see a finer example.  She was rare and beautiful.  She was a devoted wife and mother, and loved all her family and extended family dearly.  Her two son’s; John & David were her absolute pride and joy.  She cherished every moment with them always.  She rarely forgot a Birthday, Anniversary, or any other important date and she usually made sure that she had a card for the person(s) and occasion.

I will miss her terribly, especially her laughter – but I do know I’ll see her again one day.  My second story is about the end of her journey here with us.  One week prior to her leaving us, she requested that many of her friends and family to come see her.  She knew fully where she was headed and I believe she wanted to say ‘good-bye’ to many of us and let us know that she would be ok.  While speaking with her, she suddenly asked me “where is Austin & Brandon – I want to see them now”.  (Aunt Lydia has been a very large part of my son’s lives since they were born.  She spent many Easter’s with them coloring eggs, and going to Easter Egg Hunts and it seemed that she could not get enough of them whenever she was with them).   I stood outside the door as she spoke with them and I’ll share with you a part of what she told them.  Ignoring her own illness and how she felt, for a short time span she suddenly ‘transformed’ into her usual perky self.  She smiled at them, and asked them how they were doing and what they’d been up to – as if she wasn’t even ill.  They jabbered and chatted with her like usual, and then she told them in her usual perky voice, “Don’t be sad.  I’m going to go be with Grama and Pappa soon and we are gonna be dancing up in Heaven and having a really good time.  So don’t worry about me – I’ll be fine”.  They agreed with her, and laughed, and chatted a bit more before giving their parting hugs.  Her Faith NEVER faltered.

Aunt Lydia at the Farm 2006 - we were working on the quads & she decided to BE the Statue of Liberty!

I believe with all my heart that her words are true.  On April 4th, 2010 (Easter Sunday) as she parted with us in this life, I believe that she entered the Gates of Heaven into her eternal life with Jesus Christ.  We know how much she loved Angels, and I believe there were many present to accompany her.  In a new body, free of pain and disease, she danced her way through, jiggling and singing to Elvis, she then ran and jumped into the arms of her Savior.  At that moment, I am certain that He whispered,

“Welcome Home, Well Done My Good And Faithful Servant”.

Long story/short: I became a vegetarian after being so sick (found out it was chemical [msg/chemical etc.] poisoning later) for a couple of years in my late twenties, and still doctors could not find a thing wrong with me.  After doing a lot of research on my own – at age 30 — I went cold turkey Vegan… no dairy.  I was always fit back then, but still lost 10 pounds and felt  terrific.  Of course I also ate predominantly ORGANIC and natural foods – and I continued on for years… then I had my first child Austin and surgery #1 — that did me in good!!!  I Stayed vegetarian through my pregnancy with him, but added dairy back into my diet.  Of course, I thought the weight would just fall right off — IT DIDN’T!!!  I worked out regularly and still was SICK FOR A WHOLE YEAR – my gal bladder was failing and doctors wanted to remove it — I REFUSED — and went back to my books – I used the method in a book that has been in our family for years called “Back to Eden” by Jethro Kloss.  I healed my Gal bladder in ONE WEEK — after being sick for a whole year… then got back into shape eating my vegan diet and dropping dairy products again…

I was still ‘in process’ (had 5 pounds to go!) and was feeling terrific… then I got pregnant with twins. I added dairy and fish back into my diet for the duration of the pregnancy.  After having twins and surgery #2 — I dropped dairy but kept fish in my diet.  I immediately did the same gal bladder cure, so that I wouldn’t go through another year of being ill again.  My skin went crazy, I never had such a skin problem in my whole life — not a zit one in younger years!!!

Well once again, my body was trying to tell me something… I listened — I learned that what I did in my 30’s wasn’t working so great in my 40’s (ah – that aging process we all so adore!).  Now I wasn’t about to add meat back into my diet — I hate the stuff anyway… so I did more research and prayed more… the Lord led me to the RAW FOOD DIET — exactly as HE created it… another long story short — I now eat 80 percent raw foods and only 20 percent cooked or processed foods — and wow — do I love it — it tastes absolutely out of this world. One important note here: YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A VEGETARIANto be healthy – if you eat 80 percent raw foods, and your meat content of your diet is only 20 percent – you should be quite healthy!

Corn Salad RAW Salad

I have been blessed with/led to numerous raw food ‘cookbooks’ (no cooking involved -ha). Most of them are usually purchased at www.amazon.com or www.bn.com .  Many of them may also be checked out at your local library!  Here is a short listing for you:

  1.  “RAW The Uncook Book” by Juliano  (my absolute FAVORITE – the man knows his food — everything in there is absolutely awesome — and he tells how to do it all in the front of the book such as how to sprout your grains etc.)
  2. “The Raw Gourmet” by Nomi Shannon (I make various modified versions of her ‘energy bars’ [page 184] using sprouted grains and eat two a day — they have helped me a ton in loosing weight [though that is not what she claims they are for] and feeling great).
  3. “Recipes for Life from God’s Garden” by Rhonda J. Malkmus. (Her husband wrote a book called “Why Christians Get Sick” – based on Biblical principle and how our bodies are created to use raw foods… you can see their web site at www.hacres.com I suggest you go to the site to learn a lot for FREE!!! The book teaches how to live a healthier life the way the Lord intended us to… and explains a lot).
  4. “Recipes for Longer Life” By Ann Wigmore  (any book you can find by Ann Wigmore is great — she started the raw food health institute where many severely ill people go (some on their death bed — having had severe cancers/chemo/radiation etc.!!!) to be naturally HEALED and live to tell about it – PAIN FREE!!! You can learn about it all at http://www.annwigmore.org/ or below is a listing of more of the natural healing health institutes web sites — all have MANY LIVING ex-patients — healed of alsheimers (YES IT IS REPORTED AS [not by the medical association of course] REVERSABLE & CURABLE!!!) and many other things…
  5. “The Raw Truth – The Art of Preparing Living Foods” by Jeremy A. Safron
  6. “The Garden of Eden Raw Fruit & Vegetable Recipes” by Phyllis Avery

    Garden Cucumber Tomato RAW Salad

Below is a listing of health and healing institutes:

  1.  Ann Wigmore Institute (mentioned above): http://www.annwigmore.org/
  2. Creative Health Institute: http://www.creativehealthusa.com/
  3. Hippocrates Health Institute: (Hippocrates was the FIRST “medical doctor” – and he stated, “all medicine is food, and all food is medicine” – today’s doctors are required to take the ‘Hippocrates Oath’ when they graduate medical school and actually become a ‘doctor’ – the oath states “I promise to cause no harm”…yet the American Medical Association CLEARLY VIOLATES THIS OATH in many ways – Hippocrates helped heal many people of many ailments and wrote many published articles): http://www.hippocratesinst.com/
  4. Optimum Health Institute (located in San Diego CA & Austin TX: http://www.optimumhealth.org/
  5. Hallelujah Acres Health Institute (mentioned above – located in Utah): http://www.hacres.com/home.asp

Each site is informative (for free) and some of them sell various products (some I have tried, but prefer to use raw foods instead), have email newsletters and various links to other information. You don’t have to go to the institutes to learn and heal your body as God intended the body to heal – however, all information is available in the many books, and/or there is a lot of it on each web site for FREE.

God said clearly, “my people suffer for lack of knowledge” – may I suggest that you gain the knowledge so that you never suffer from illness or the “cures” provided by the American Medical Association.  This in itself is another whole subject: you may learn some about it at a web site by Dr. Lorraine Day M.D. – she was an internationally acclaimed orthopedic trauma surgeon and best selling author was for 15 years on the faculty of the University of California, San Francisco, School of Medicine as Associate Professor and Vice Chairman of the Department of Orthopedics. She was also Chief of Orthopedic Surgery at San Francisco General Hospital (and is today recognized world-wide as an AIDS expert). Until she got breast cancer.   She knew full well the ramifications of chemotherapy and radiation, and therefore REFUSED conventional medical treatment (though she did have part of her tumor cut out eventually).  She is now HEALED of BREAST CANCER – using the methods from the various health institutes – and she tried MANY other ‘natural ways’ of healing BEFORE using raw foods – she sells many video tapes and her web site is very informative – she tells the truth as she sees it, about the American Medical Association and gives additional information as to where you can learn about it for yourself, (In my opinion – it is a multi-billion dollar industry – aimed at making $$$ – put simply – “follow the money”!).  Her web site is www.drday.com

I’m also living proof that it all works, and I would personally choose to go to any of the institutes (should I ever need to – but I suspect I will not 🙂 rather than suffer at the hands of our current sciences.  Of course our bodies are also created to MOVE — so I added exercise back into my life after both surgeries… however exercise alone did not help me a lot — because of my surgeries and the many drugs that were “pumped into me” — I had to give my body the things it needed to heal as it was created to do.

** NOTE: *** I am NOT a certified Health Expert, and cannot legally make any claims. Everything written here is strictly my opinion based on my own personal experiences. I have done a lot of research as well as ‘assisted’ (I believe that God of course is the ultimate healer!) in the healing of my own body.

Over the years the Lord has led many people to me who all ask various questions – some regarding weight, some regarding general health, some regarding foods, and some just wanna know “where does all my energy come from”… We each make our own choices and will suffer or reap the consequences of our choices, especially when it’s whom we trust with our own health/bodies — I have made my choices, you decide yours. I have simply been given a message to deliver :-).

May God Bless you Always,

Give Love And Live

There is love in the heart of every human being

A need in every soul for the closeness shared by two

For the warmth of a smile and tender touch

And for the words, “I love you”, so very much

Yet there are so many of us who fail to see through

To the deep true feelings of someone who is blue

We will put up our fronts and our guards to our hearts

To hide our pains and feelings from our serious counterparts

Why can’t we all see that there is love to be shared

Why didn’t we show them how much we really cared

Who cares about the past

The hurt and the pain

Let us stand up

Love, laugh and truly live again

We are all here for a purpose and we are not here alone

Let us love all we can before we are gone

I will forgive all the people as long as I live

For I am going to love, laugh and I am going to give!

Life’s Meaning

Sunset - Potholes Reservoir 1980

Life has a special meaning for each and every person

For me, life is not just fulfilling ones own dreams

But helping others to fulfill theirs

As well

To see smiles and love

And knowing I am a part of someone’s happiness

Is what makes my life worth living

I Feel

Living means many things to many people

I feel to live, means to accept the things one cannot change

As well as change the things one can

To set a goal and reach for it

To be true to others

As well as thyself

Sharing smiles and friendship

I feel to live is to love!
